MAROA, IL - Alice Belle Armstrong Florey, 80, of Maroa died 9:15 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 1, 1997) in her home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Maroa, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery. Mrs. Florey was born in Corwith, Iowa, on Jan. 1, 1917, the daughter of Joe and Gladys Fortman Armstrong. She was a member of Maroa United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 266 of Maroa. She married Gilbert D. Florey in DeWitt County on Oct. 26, 1935. He preceded her in death in July 1991.
Surviving are her daughters, Nancy Day and husband Maurice of Maroa; JoAnn Runyen and husband Robert of Maroa; grandsons, Michael E. Day and wife Sharon of Decatur; Les W. Day and wife Jenny of Maroa; Lee Runyen of Maroa; granddaughters; Pamela Muth of Decatur; Alice Elliott and husband Steve of Clinton; two stepgrandchildren; three greatgranddaughters; several great and great-great-stepgrandchildren; sister, Wilma Laffranchi and husband John of Clearlake, Calif.; sister-in-law, Nina Armstrong of Watsonville, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Herman, and grandson, Melvin Day.
