RUSSELL C. McMULLEN, 81, of Clearwater, died Saturday (Jan. 15, 2000) at Mease Dunedin Hospital. He was born in Corwith, Iowa, and came here in 1978 from Springfield, Ill., where he retired as supply management officer for the Army National Guard. He retired as a colonel from the Army and was a veteran of World War II, when he was a battalion commander of the 126th Armored Division. He graduated from Officer Candidate School, Fort Knox, Ky., and the Command and General Staff schools. He was a 50-year member of Temple Lodge 46 F&AM, Peoria, Ill., and a member of the Scottish Rite and Egypt Shrine Temple, Tampa. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Frances; a son, M. Michael, Dunlap, Ill.; and a brother, Kenneth E., Oceanside, Calif. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater.

PEORIA, IL - Russell C. McMullen, 81, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of the Peoria and Springfield areas, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at Mease Hospital in Dunedin, Fla. Born March 25, 1918, in Corwith, Iowa, to Raymond J. and Verna M. Richardson McMullen, he married Frances L. Gadberry. She survives. Also surviving are one son, M. Michael of Dunlap; and one brother, Kenneth of Oceanside, Calif. He was a retired supply management officer for the Army National Guard in Springfield. A retired Army colonel, he was a World War II veteran. He served as a battalion commander in an armored division. He was a graduate of officer candidate school in Fort Knox, Ky. He also graduated from a command and general staff school. He was a 50-year member of Temple Lodge 46, AF&AM in Peoria. There will be no services or visitation. Burial was Wednesday at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater.
