John L. Punke, 69, Venice, died Nov. 12, 2003. He was born April 5, 1934, in Corwith, Iowa, and came to Venice in 1992 from Lancaster, Calif. He was an Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Lois; a daughter, Kimberly Boyd of La Quinta, Calif.; a son, Michael of Los Angeles; sisters Yvonne Olson and Betty, both of Ottumwa, Iowa; and a grandchild. A memorial service will be private. National Cremation Society, Venice chapter, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to St. Francis Animal Shelter, 1925 Tamiami Trail South, Venice, FL 34293.
