Mrs. Etta Allie Elder, 74, died Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock in Jackson County Hospital where she had been under treatment for 2 days. Mrs. Elder was a native of Iowa and a resident of Kreole for many years. The body will be at Fails Funeral Home at Moss Point this afternoon at 5 o'clock. The funeral service will be held Friday at the Kreole Methodist Church with the Rev. J.H. Dillard, the Rev. Claude Fortenberry and the Rev. Dr. D.L. Sutherland officiating. Interment will be in Jackson County Memorial Park.

Mrs. Elder is survived by two sons, Oscar Elder, Orange Grove, and Hollis Elder, Kreole; 4 daughters, Mrs. R.C. Verbeke and Mrs. Olen DeLancey, Kreole, Mrs. G.G. Townsend, Savannah, Georgia, Mrs. E.D. Hines, Jr., Grand Bay, Alabama; 2 sisters, Mrs. G.A. [Lottie] Hawkins, St. Paul, Minnesota and Mrs. R.A. [Cate] Davis, Nevada, 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
