Phoenix, AZ -- Ron L. Friest, 69, passed from this life on Sunday, August 1, 2010 in Iowa City.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines with inurnment at Phoenix. He was born on January 23, 1941 in Eagle Grove the son of Joseph and Emma (Johnson) Friest. Ron graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1958 and married Berneice LeClere on October 23, 1960. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Ron was a Real Estate Broker in Cedar Rapids and Phoenix.

Ron is survived by his wife Berneice; daughter, Joann Friest-White and husband Jack; grandson, Jeremiah Friest-White all of Phoenix; sister, Frances Sadler of Boone and brother, Roger (Lyllis) Friest of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lance; brothers, Jim and E.A. (Bud) Friest and sister, Mazelle Carlsen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Easter Seals.
