MASON CITY, IA -- Deloris Bryant Drilen, 37, passed away on Friday (Sept. 1, 1995) at the Regional Hospital in Trondheim, Norway. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (Sept. 8, 1995) at the Church of Jossund in Bjugn, Norway, where she had lived for the past year and a half.

Deloris, the daughter of Dennis and Dolly Bryant of Mason City, was born March 11, 1958, at Osage.
She lived on the Bryant family farm at Charles City until she was 3 years old. The family then moved to Belmond, where she spent the next 17 years. She then moved to the Bryant family farm at Mason City with her son, Justin Barkema. Her many loves and interests in life were her children, the heritage of her family, exploring nature, art, music and photography. On March 21, 1991, she was married in Clear Lake to Erik Drilen from Trondheim, Norway. They lived in North Iowa for about 2 years, then moved to Norway. This was the happiest time of her life even though she was fighting the battle of her life with cancer.

Deloris is survived by her husband, Erik, her daughters, Michelle and Kristen of Bjugn, Norway; her son, Justin Barkema of Mason City; her parents, Dennis and Dolly Bryant of Mason City; her brother, David of Mason City; her brother Dale and his wife, Lucinda of Huxley; her grandfather, Ralph Bryant of Charles City; her grandmother, Daisy Ellis of Britt; her uncle, Seth Bryant and his wife, Margaret, of Charles City; her uncle, Jerry Bryant and his wife, Vi, of Monticello, Fla. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Marjory Bryant; her grandfather, Clarence Paulson; her aunt, Jean Bryant; her great aunt and uncle, Helen and Jule Thompson.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 Fourth St. S.E., Mason City.
