BELMOND, IA — Marion Faye Swenson, 72, of Belmond, died Monday (Feb. 16, 1998) at the Belmond Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Belmond, with Pastor Jim Carpenter, officiating. Interment will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the Church.

Marion Faye Swenson, the daughter of Charles Edward and Orah Alvern (Tomlinson) Obrecht was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Belmond, Iowa. She attended the Belmond Schools and was united in marriage to Vernon Swenson on June 2, 1942, at the Lutheran Church Parsonage. They made their home in Belmond all of their life. Marion was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hospital Auxiliary, Kensington Club, Birthday Club, and Trinity Ladies WELCA. Marion entered the Belmond Health Care Center in January of 1997 and died there on Monday, Feb. 16, 1998.

She is survived by her sons, Larry A. Swenson and his wife, Jo Ellen, of Belmond, Iowa; and Paul V. Swenson and his wife, Roxann, of Polk City, Iowa; daughters, Sharon Hall and her husband, Sherman, of Loves Park, Ill.; and Shirley Stoffer and her husband, Douglas, of Belmond, Iowa; grandchildren, Sherman Hall Jr. and his wife, Amy; Brian Hall; Cheri Hewitt and her husband, Brian; Clay Stoffer and his wife, Jennifer; Jennifer Peterson and her husband, Max; Angela Swenson; Heather Swenson; Daniel Swenson; Jessica Swenson; great-grandchildren, Jake Hall and Kaitlyn Peterson; sister-in-law, Evelyn Obrecht; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Marilyn Swenson; sister-in-law, Dorothy Swenson; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Lawrence McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; sisters, Iris, June and Gladys; brothers, Robert, Edward, Harold, Merle, and Dale.
