WILLIAMS, IA — Lorene Mary Butler, 73, of Williams, died Monday (March 16, 1998) at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williams, with the Rev. Raymond Burkle officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Surls Funeral Home, 206 Main St., in Williams. There will be a parish wake service at 8 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Lorene Mary Butler was born Sept. 10, 1924, on a farm near Blairsburg. Survivors include her husband, Leo, of Williams; one daughter, Mary Fankhauser, of Williams; and one son, James Butler, of Belmond; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Leona Keane, of Williams, and Bernice Brighton, of Ankeny; and two brothers, Robert Smith, of Ellsworth, and Harold Smith, of Dunlap.
