SHEFFIELD, IA — Florence Meyer, 87, of Sheffield, died Wednesday (Dec. 2, 1998) at the Sheffield Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hampton, with the Rev. Wayne Dobratz officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hampton. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton.

Florence Meyer was born Feb. 12, 1911, in Latimer, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Minnie Meyer. She attended Latimer Lutheran Church School in Latimer. She was united in marriage to Rudolph Meyer on Feb. 4, 1932. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hampton. She was a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid, Sunshine Club and a 4-H Leader.

She is survived by her husband, Rudolph Meyer, of Sheffield; daughter, Donna Willis, of Dows; son, Donald Meyer, of Rockwell; son, Wayne Meyer, of Mason City; daughter, Leona Taylor, of Clear Lake; one sister, Viola Oleson, of Latimer; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Cindy Willis; two sisters; and two brothers.
