BELMOND, IA — Kathleen Mae Draper, 47, of Goleta, Calif., formerly of Belmond and born in Belmond on March 17, 1951, to Valva and Gerald Draper, was killed by a train on Nov. 22, 1998, in Goleta, Calif. Kathy is survived by a son, Troy, of Goleta, Calif.; mother, Valva, of Las Vegas; father, Gerald, of Mason City; brother, Larry Draper, of Salt Lake City; sisters, Linda Whipple, of Salt Lake City; and Judy Evangelisti, of Woodland Hills, Calif.; and cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by brother, Timothy; and sister, Nancy. Services were held in Goleta, Calif., and graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 2, 1998, in Belmond.
