Edwardsville, KS -- Thelma E. Guddall Heggen, 92, of Edwardsville, died Friday, April 6, 2007, while in the company of family members at her home. Services were Wednesday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery. Visitation was before the services Wednesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Catholic Community Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Mrs. Heggen was born May 24, 1914 in Thor, Iowa to Sam and Minnie Guddall. After graduating from Eagle Grove High School she worked with her father at his general store in Thor. She married Joe Heggen in 1936 and soon after moved to Washington and Montana before returning to Iowa in 1950 and in 1977 relocated to Kansas. Mrs. Heggen was in preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ted and Clifford, her sisters Ruby and Luella and her husband of 65 years, Joseph Heggen, in 2002. She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Martinez of Edwardsville and Janet Hawkins of Bondurant, Iowa; and two sons, Paul Heggen of Middleton, Wis., and John Heggen of Colfax, Iowa. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements: Alden-Harrington Funeral Home
