DAVENPORT, IA — Ronald B. Ten Haken, 61, of Davenport, and formerly of the Gibbsville, Wis., area, died Saturday (Oct. 3, 1998) at his home. He was born on Jan. 6, 1937, in the town of Lima, the son of Chester and Bertha (Van Stelle) Ten Haken. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1954 and received his BA degree from Lakeland College. Ronald served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He married Joyce Thielman in July of 1961, in Klemme. Ronald worked as a YMCA director. Ronald is survived by a daughter, Heather (Michael) Chapman, of Phoenix; a son, Nathan (friend Avery) Ten Haken, of Nora Springs; a granddaughter, Calyx; his parents, Chester and Bertha Ten Haken, of Sheboygan Falls; two sisters, Ruth (Roy) Ten Pas of Gibbsville, and Kathy (Bob) Ingelse, of Oostburg; and one brother, Jerome (Marlys) Ten Haken, of Kiel. Private family funeral services were held at the Huehns-Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg, Wis., with the Rev. Gerald Dykstra officiating. Burial was at Union Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
