Shirley A. Bushong, 63, of 713 S. Shelley died at 5:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 1991, at Methodist Medical Center. Born March 24, 1928, in Klemme, Iowa, to William and Alvina Ausborn Hawkins, she married Leslie E. Bushong on April 13, 1947, in Peoria. He died Oct. 5, 1983, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jon (Norma) Brenning of Trivoli; one son, Steven L. of Creve Coeur; one brother, Robert Hawkins of Lampasas, Texas; six sisters, Mrs. Robert (Lucy) Lightbody, Marjorie Phillips, Mary Sweet, and Bonnie Downes, all of Peoria, Lucille Kneer of Oklahoma, and Mrs. Richard (Pauline) Ulrich of Klemme, Iowa; and one grandchild. She was a cook at Baker's Tavern in Bellevue. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Wilton Mortuary, the Rev. J.C. Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery, East Peoria.
