STOKESBARY, PAXTON, UPMEYER, LAW, OSNES, DEVENS

A Vancouver area resident since 1955, Glenn E. Stokesbary died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in Vancouver. He was 83. Mr. Stokesbary was a retired printing instructor for the Washington State School for the Deaf. He was born Jan. 5, 1918, in Klemme, Iowa. His wife, Jean, died in 2000. Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Paxton of Gladstone, Ore.; two sons, Terry of Olympia and Alan of Vancouver; three brothers, Lyle of Bremerton, Wash., Marvin of Redwood Falls, Minn., and Bert of Chico, Calif.; four sisters, Maxine Upmeyer and Ruth Law, both of Clear Lake, Iowa, Bonnie Osnes of Forest City, Iowa, and Phyllis Devens of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren. Mr. Stokesbary was a member of the Washington State Association for the Deaf, Southwest Washington Association for the Deaf and the National Association for the Deaf. He was an avid bowler and golfer. A memorial service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. There will be a private burial. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington State School for the Deaf scholarship fund, 611 Grand Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98661.
