Guy Charles Luscombe, 63, of Klemme, Iowa, formerly of Des Moines, died Thursday, December 29, 2005, at the University of Washington Hospitals in Seattle, Washington. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 6, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 North 4th Street, Clear Lake, with Reverend Derik Yarian officiating. According to his wishes his body was cremated.

Guy Charles Luscombe was born on August 7, 1942, in Indianola, Iowa, the son of Glenn and Laura (Spofford) Luscombe. He attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines in 1961. He also attended Drake University in Des Moines. Guy worked with his father helping to recruit students for the College of Automation. He also sold cars in Des Moines. In 1962, he entered the Air National Guard and eventually worked in the Civil Service area for 30 years for the Guard until his retirement as Master Sergeant. After his retirement he worked for Crescent Chevrolet in Des Moines and also painted cars. Guy was currently living his retirement, restoring street rods in his custom built dream shop. He was united in marriage to Marlys Joanne Neuberger on July 8, 1966, in Des Moines. Guy loved cars especially restoring his 1934 Ford Coupe, he also loved people, was very optimistic, and had a great sense of humor. He also enjoyed photography, painting, crafts, fishing, wood working, and the out doors, but his great love and enjoyment was his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a life time member of the Iowa Street Rod Association.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Joanne Luscombe of Klemme; three children, Brent Luscombe and his wife Michelle of Thornton, Lana Luscombe of Des Moines, and Ryan Luscombe of Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Whitney, Brandon, Samantha, and Breanna Luscombe; one sister, Linda Thornton of Des Moines; many nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ward Van Slyke Funeral Home.
