November 1, 2005Dr. Allen L. Jenny, 60, of 3521 Yankee Avenue, Stratford, died Friday, Oct. 28, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone with Richard Harken officiating. He was born Oct. 3, 1945 in Platte Center, Neb., the son of Albert and Hattie (Kamm) Jenny. He married Linda Vaughn Feb. 16, 1974, in Blue Hill, Neb. He graduated from Platte Center High School and received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Dana College in Blair, Neb.. He graduated with a doctor of veterinary medicine degree and received a master's degree in toxicology from Iowa State University. He practiced veterinary medicine in Klemme with Dr. Tom Bosworth before working in the Iowa State University Diagnostic Laboratory while completing his master's program. He was currently working as a pathology investigator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Veterinary Services, National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Ames. He enjoyed being out-of-doors fishing, hunting pheasant, deer, turkey and introducing young people to hunting and nature. He was a member of the Boone Valley Ikes - Webster City Chapter and numerous professional organizations.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Stratford, one daughter, Lindsey Jenny of Mason, Mich.; his mother, Hattie Jenny of Carne, Neb.; two brothers Dr. David Jenny and his wife, Kathy, of Carne, Neb., Bruce Jenny and his wife, Nancy, of Hastings, Neb.; two sisters, Marcia Donnelson and her husband, Brent, of Johnston, Tenn., and Wanda Jenny of Lincoln, Neb.; his mother-in-law, Laverne Vaughn of Boone; two brothers-in-law, John Vaughn and his wife, Mary, of Springfield, Mo., and Roger Vaughn and his wife, Lois, of Palm Harbor, Fla., and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Johnson and her husband, Craig, of Belvedere, Ill. Following the services, the body was cremated. Memorials may be given to Boone Valley Ikes - Webster City Chapter. Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Boone is in charge of arrangements.
