Ben F. Nolte, 83, of Clear Lake, died October 5, 2000, at his home in Clear Lake. Funeral services were held October 9 in Clear Lake with Interment at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Ben was born March 16, 1917, in rural Clear Lake, the son of Julius and Minnie (Christie) Nolte. He farmed before entering the United States Army during WWII. He was in the field artillery in Australia, New Guinea, Philippines and Japan. Following the service, he moved back to the Goodell area where he continued to farm. Ben married Ruby A. Kristiansen November 22, 1980 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in Meservey before moving to Clear Lake in 1985. They spent their winters in Harlingen, TX. Ben was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Daniel and Virgil Nolte; and three sisters, LaRita Nuehring, Vera Spaid, and Jennie Retleff. Survivors are his wife, Ruby Nolte of Clear Lake; several nieces and nephews.
