David Eugene Ammerman, 57, died after a long illness at the Belmond Medical Center on Wednesday, February 21, 2001. Funeral services were held at the Tenold Funeral Chapel, Belmond on Monday, February 26, 2001 with Pastor Lynne Spencer-Smith officiating. Burial was in the Belmond Cemetery. Music was provided by Shelly Turner, vocalist.

David Eugene Ammerman, the son of Albert Jay and Janet (Daniels) Ammerman, was born April 1, 1943, at Belmond. He graduated from the Belmond High School, was certified in refrigerator repair service, drove a truck part-time for twenty three years and was employed by the City of Belmond. He married Cecile Huntley on May 6, 1967, and had three children. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Rollin R.S. Mosiman and two brothers, Rollin W. Mosiman and Terry Ammerman. Survivors include his daughters: Gina Knudsen of Des Moines; Shannon Teeter of Forest City; Angela Kay Ziller of Garner; grandchildren: Sophra, Jamie, Sami Jo, Josh, Sloan, and Luke. Three sisters: Patricia VanGerpen and her husband, Peter of Iowa City; Linda Benson and her husband, Roger of Sommers, MT; Carla Mosiman of Mason City; and one brother, Anthony Mosiman and wife, Linda, of California City, CA; and his special friend, Lynda Etchen of Belmond.
