Jerome Richard Gesinski, 62, Prairie City, formerly of Klemme, died Thursday, January 4, 2001 in Des Moines. A private family service was held. Burial will be at a later date in the Belmond Cemetery. Jerome, the son of Edward and Esther Gutkowski Gesinski was born September 29, 1938, in Milwaukee, WI. He grew up and attended school in the Milwaukee area. In 1979, he moved to the Klemme area, where he was employed at the Klemme Co-op Elevator. He later lived in Arizona before moving back to Iowa and living in the Klemme, Aplington, and Prairie City areas. He was employed by the Prairie City Co-op and most recently was working as a carpenter. Jerome was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Survivors include two sons: Richard and Michael of Thornton; two daughters: Mary and Jerri Lynn of Milwaukee; his mother, Esther Gesinski of Klemme; four grandchildren; two sisters: Carol Hinman and her husband Robert of Klemme, and Nancy Brookshire and husband, Dwight of Cummings, GA; two nieces and two nephews.
