VETERAN HANCOCK WOMAN BURIED AT KLEMME CEMETERY

Garner, Iowa--July 10. Following an illness of only twenty minutes Mrs. Webner came to her death at the home of her daughter, Mrs Myron Haskins Saturday morning. Mrs Webner has lived 81 years and was still bright in mind and active in body except for a twenty minute attack of heart trouble the night previous to her demise. Her husband Dan Webner passed away three months and eight days ago and for his presence she pined and seemed the day previous to her departure to have a premonition of what came.

She said "I will soon be with him".

Mr and Mrs Webner had owned and lived on the same farm three and one-half miles east of Klemme for forty years and were happy together. Three children are left to mourn the loss, Mrs. Myron Haskins of Garner, Mrs Tom Nelson of near Goodell and Dan Webner Jr. who farms near the home place. Short services were conducted by the Rev. Gillis after which the body of the deceased was taken to her home in Klemme. Funeral services were largely attended at 2:30 yesterday at the Methodist Episcopal church at Klemme.

Early Settler of Hancock County Died Saturday
Lived on Old Farm 45 Years

Following an illness of only about a half hour, Mrs. Daniel Webner, Sr., of near this place passed away early last Saturday morning, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myron Haskin at Garner, where she had been visiting for about a week. The news came as a shock to her many friends here as she had apparently been enjoying good health. She had not been so well, however, a few days before her death as she complained of heart trouble the night before but it was considered nothing serious by attending physician.

Mrs. Webner was about eighty one years old and was active both in mind and body. Her husband Dan Webner, Sr., preceded her in death by about 3 months. Mr. and Mrs. Webner were both pioneers of this county and had resided on the old home place for the past forty-five years and were among the first settlers in the county when Indians were a common sight on the prairies.

After a brief service at the Haskin home at Garner Saturday afternoon her remains were brought back to the old home, occupied by her son, Daniel, Jr. and family. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 and at the Methodist Church at 2:30. Burial was made in the Klemme Cemetery.
