Ardell T. Waddingham, 77, of Ventura, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City. The funeral was held Monday Feb. 5 at the United Methodist Church in Ventura with Rev. Paul Hasel officiating. Music was provided by organist, Dorothy Schnuelle who accompanied soloist, Larry Shaffer. Usher was Mike Cash. Internment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Cataldo Funeral Home, Garner was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Calvin Anderson, Bob White, Wendell Davison, Harry Roenfanz, Gordon Johnson and Dr. Norman Held.

Ardell Timothy Waddingham, the son of George Timothy and Anna (Blumer) Waddingham was born Sept. 14, 1923 on a farm north of Klemme. He attended the rural schools south of Ventura and graduated from Ventura High School in 1941. He farmed with his mother south of Ventura. On Sept. 24, 1944 Ardell Waddingham married Tressa Tompkins at the United Methodist Church in Klemme. The couple lived on the home farm until 1947 when they moved northwest of Ventura to Tressa's home farm. They farmed for a total of 50 years before retiring. Mr. Waddingham enjoyed his family, grandchildren, spending winters in Arizona and playing cards with friends. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the church board of trustees, and the Hancock County Coop Oil Board.

Survivors include his wife Tressa Waddingham of Ventura; Three daughters, Kathy Payne and her husband, Thomas, of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Iris Ault and her husband, Jerry, of Earlham and Valerie Hasbrouck and her husband, Bruce, of Ventura; four grandchildren, Tiffany Payne, Judd Payne, Vanessa Hasbrouck and Natalie Hasbrouck. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Gary Waddingham in 1983; and two brothers, Curtis and Arnett Waddingham.

VENTURA - Ardell T. Waddingham, 77, died Friday (Feb. 2, 2001) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Ventura, with the Rev. Paul Hasel officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Cataldo Funeral Home, Garner, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Monday.
