Mrs. Mary McLaury Answers The Final Summons

Mrs. Mary McLaury died at six o'clock Wednesday morning at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. T. G. Myers in this city. Mrs. McLaury had for many years been a sufferer from rheumatism and this combined with the infirmities of old age, ended a life that had been filled with pain patiently borne. Mary Hoag was born in Coldinghamshire, Scotland on November 30, 1849. When she was less than two years old her parents came to America, settling in Wisconsin, but in 1869 they moved to Wright county, Iowa, where she was united in marriage to John McLaury. Thus, in her childhood and early married life she knew the hardships of pioneering. Mr. McLaury passed away in 1911, and one daughter, Isabel, died at the age of ten.

Mrs. McLaury is survived by three daughters, Mrs. T. G. Myers of Hobson, Mrs. A.C. Adams of Hamilton, Mont., and Mrs. F. M. King of Webster Grove, Missouri, a sister Mrs. J.L. Boyd of Pasadena, California, and a brother W.E. Hoag of Miami, Florida, and grandsons, Rickard King and Robert Myers.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Belle Harmon of Buffalo, at eleven o'clock Friday morning at the home after which the body will be taken to the former home at Webster City, Iowa, for burial. Mrs. McLaury came to Hobson two years ago to make her home, and in that time, although confined to the house by her infirmities, she made many friends. Her quick retentive mind maintained an interest in her church and state and national affairs to the end.

Her last days were as she wished them. Mrs. Adams has been with her most of the summer; her brother W.E. Hoag and Mrs. Hoag arrived two weeks ago, and during their stay she has been unusually well until she was stricken Saturday night. In her last hours she was attended by Dr. A. E. Myrick of Stanford, who has been a friend of the family for many years.

Mrs. T. G. Myers, Mrs. A.C. Adams, and Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Hoag will accompany the body of Mrs. McLaury to Webster City, Iowa, leaving on Friday morning.
