Clarence Berg of Clarkfield, Minnesota, passed away December 11, 1988, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on December 14, 1988, at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor Gordon Trelstad officiating. Music was provided by organist Karen Donner and soloist Loren Norgaard. Honorary Casket Bearers were Glen Jorgenson, Ray Miller, Ed Polman, Don Quesnell, Newland Severts and Harry Stokke. Active Casket Bearers were Kerman Benson, Arden Berg, Stanley Berg, Marlowe Norum, George Rysdahl and Duane Severson. Final Resting Place was at the Clarkfield Lutheran Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota.

Clarence Berg was born December 12, 1907, at Thor, Iowa, to parents Carl and Caroline Berg. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was united in marriage to Inez Orres on June 6, 1931, at Clarkfield. To this union one son, Kenneth, was born. Clarence was engaged in farming for several years and was also custodian at Vinge Lutheran Church in Willmar, Minnesota. He also participated in various other jobs.

He is survived by his wife Inez; two sisters, Judith Rysdahl and Clara Severson of Clarkfield; three brothers, Wilhelm and Harold both of Clarkfield and Arthur of Willmar; and many nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth; his parents; one brother, Arne; three sisters, Joella, Mamie and Christine.
