OLD SETTLER PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Storey, age 81 years, dies Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs J.M. Bell. Mrs. O.W. Storey, one of Hamilton County's oldest residents, died Sunday morning at 7:15 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.M. Bell on Seneca Street. Had she lived until tomorrow morning Mrs. Storey would have been 81 years old. Paralysis was the cause of her demise.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from The Methodist church at two o'clock, conducted by the Rev. F.W. Ginn. Interment will be given at Cass Township Center cemetery, where Mr. Storey is buried. Mrs Storey has been a resident of Hamilton County for more than 50 years. She had been ailing for two months and had been bedfast but a week. She made her home in the west end of the city on Third Street, but a short time ago had gone to the home of her daughter on account of her health. Mrs. Storey moved to Webster City five years ago, having made her home prior to that time in Cass township.
Deceased leaves three children. Mrs. J.M. Bell, Webster City, N.F. Storey, Ames, Iowa, B.B. Storey, Wrenshaw, Minn. Mrs. Storey's maiden name was Phebe Jane Carver. She was born in Marion County Ohio. Her family moved to Indiana and in that state Miss Carver married Mr. O.W. Storey. The couple moved to Tama County Iowa in 1852, where they made their home for two years, coming from there to Hamilton County in 1854, where they settled in Cass Township. Mr. Storey died 18 years ago.
One by one of the pioneers of the county are passing away and the death of Mrs. Storey removes from the ranks a woman beloved by all and one whose going causes general regret in the county.
