The Daily Freeman Journal -- Webster City, IowaMargaret Laura Brim went to meet her Lord November 17, 2009 at Crestview Senior Living Center. Margaret was born June 8, 1913 to Jessie Smith Lyle and Laverne L. Lyle. She grew up and attended schools in Hamilton County, graduating from Webster City High School. She married Paul W. Brim March 3, 1935 and they celebrated 70 years together. The couple farmed in rural Cass Township. In 1946 they moved to Webster City and operated Lyle's Maytag. They sold the business in 1957 and moved to Minneapolis. In 1959 they purchased a resort, BrimView Beach, on Lac Mille Lacs in Minnesota. They operated the resort until they sold it in 1970 and returned to Webster City.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and LaVerne Lyle; husband, Paul W. Brim; sister, Mildred Cline; granddaughter, Paula Hemmen Holloway; a great granddaughter and two great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Abbas) Habhab, Leila (Ronald) Hemmen, Bette (Paul) Willingham and son, Lyle (Marlene) Brim, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
As a career woman, Margaret was a farmer's wife, hair dresser, appliance store operator, Minnesota resort owner and operator, and realtor. But most of all she was a servant of her Lord Jesus Christ. Margaret had an abiding faith, loved her Lord and did not expect to die. She planned on meeting Him in the air when He returned as He has promised. She was a long time member of the Webster City Church of Christ. The family thanks the staff of Crestview Senior Living Center for their loving care. Plans for a memorial service are pending. The family suggests memorials be given to Webster City Congregate Meals.
