Donald Harold Rasmussen, 95, Luverne, Minnesota died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 2, at Calvary Baptist Church in Fulton, N.Y., with burial of cremains at Mt. Adnah Cremation Gardens in Fulton. Donald Rasmussen was born on Dec. 15, 1914, to Hans and Hannah (Thompson) Rasmussen in Goldfield, Iowa. He married Marie Castrovilla in 1942. They moved to Syracuse, N.Y., where they lived for more than 40 years. He worked General Electric and then for Magnavox Corporation. He enjoyed building and flying experimental aircraft, participating in ham radio and rebuilding vintage sports cars. Mr. Rasmussen is survived by five children, Donna Rasmussen, Cary, N.C., Karen Lipphardt, Tucson, Ariz., Sandra Dowie, Luverne, Peter Rasmussen, Moberly, Mo., and Fredrick Rasmussen, Cato, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marie Rasmussen. Dingmann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Send cards to Sandra Dowie, Sunrise Motel, 114 S.
