GARNER, Iowa-- Cheryl C. Eichorn, 60, a resident of the Duncan Heights Care Facility, rural Garner, died Friday (March 26, 2004) at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Tenold-Andrews Funeral Home, 528 E. Main Street, Klemme. The Reverend Rod Hopp of Trinity Lutheran Church, Belmond, will be officiating. Burial will be in the Little Sioux Lutheran Cemetery in Milford. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home in Klemme. Cheryl Eichorn was born Dec. 5, 1943, in Mason City, the daughter of Wallace Arnold and Mildred Rose Ella (Anderson) Eichorn. She was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. She was raised in the Klemme area, where she attended and graduated from Klemme High School. She later attended Waldorf College in Forest City. Cheryl had lived for much of her life at home with her mother, Mildred, in Klemme, until she passed away on Jan. 5, 1988. Cheryl then moved to the Duncan Heights Facility and has resided there since that time. She had been employed at the Garner Work Center from 1990 through 1993. Cheryl was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond. During the years that she was no longer able to attend Trinity's Sunday services, she remained in contact with the church through correspondence. During her many years at Duncan Heights, she had enjoyed participating in the various activities and festivities that were a part of life there. Favorite past times included reading the Bible, writing and sending letters, listening to music, and singing. She will be missed by the staff and residents at Duncan Heights. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Darlene Blumer. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Tenold-Andrews Funeral Homes, Klemme Chapel.
