Jeanne A. Radohl Henkle, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal. She was born Oct. 28, 1923, to Stephen J. and Viola M. Banks West in Clarion, Iowa. She married Virgil K. Radohl Aug. 7, 1943, in Clarion. He died Jan. 1, 1971. She then married Isaac M. Henkle on Sept. 6, 1971. He died in May 1978. She graduated high school in Clarion and attended Midland Radio School in Kansas City, Mo. She was a radio and teletype operator for United Airlines, working in Seattle/Portland, Ore., for four years, Almigordo, N.M., at Halloman AFB for General Dynamics “Convair,” also worked for Hughes Aircraft-Teledyne Ryan in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was a member for the First United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary of Liberal. She is survived by one sister, Judy Morris, Kanawha, Iowa; three granddaughters, Tami Radohl-Sigley and husband, Matt, Shawnee, Lori Radohl, Liberal, and Mara Horner and husband, Kevin, Eric of Colorado; four great-grandsons; and one daughter-in-law, Helen Radohl, Liberal. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Doug Radohl, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Chapel. Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Doug Radohl Scholarship Fund in care of the mortuary.
