The funeral service for Rachel Ann (Long) Corwin Hawkins will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2nd at the Church of Christ,(Christian) in Albert Lea MN. The Rev. Mike Gerhardt will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Lake IA. Bonnerup Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Rachel died on Tues. Oct. 29, 2002 at St. Johns Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. where she had lived for the past 2 years. She was 95 years old.

Rachel was born Aug.14,1907, 4 miles south of Mason City Iowa. The Daughter of Frank and Wilmie (Lillibridge) Long. At the age of 4 Rachel moved with her family to Rudd Iowa and at the age of 7 to north of Clear Lake Iowa. She attended rural school through the 8th grade and was a graduate of Clear Lake High School. She received Normal School training in 1925 and taught rural school for 2 years. On June 4,1927 Rachel was married to Weiland Wickliffe (WW Bill) Corwin. They lived in Clear Lake; Mason City,,rural Goodell Iowa and then to Albert Lea MN. in 1948. Bill preceded Rachel in death in 1957. Following Bill's death she lived in Harlan Iowa where she attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City Iowa. Rachel then moved to Albert Lea MN. where she worked for Queen Products for 10 1/2 years. Retiring in 1970. On June 30, 1967 she married Harold W. Hawkins. He preceded her in death in 1984. Rachel grew up in the Mason City Christian Church where she was baptized into Christ in 1919. She was a charter member of the Clear Lake Christian Church and of the Albert Lea Church of Christ (Christian).

Rachel is survived by 2 children; Grace McCord and her Husband Lynn of Harlan Iowa and Roger Corwin and his Wife Marge of St. Louis Park MN. Step Daughter Rosalie Hawkins of Minneapolis MN. 19 Grandchildren, many Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Rachel was preceded in death by her Parents Frank and Wilmie Long, Husbands Bill Corwin and Harold Hawkins, 2 Brothers, 2 Sisters and Sisters and Brothers in Law.
