BELMOND, IA — Richard P. Miller, 56, of Belmond, special needs son of Paul and Carol Miller, died Monday (June 14, 2010) at his home. Funeral services will e held 2 p.m. Friday at the Evangelical Free Church in Belmond with Pastor Patrick Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane S. in Belmond.

Richard P. Miller, 56, Belmond, died June 14, 2010 at his home. Services were held June 18 at the Belmond Evangelical Free Church. Burial was in the Belmond Cemetery.
Richard Paul, the son of Paul and Carol Miller, was born May 31, 1954 in Forest City. A special needs child, Richard was raised in a loving Christian home in Belmond. His mother and father cared for him his entire life. He is remembered as a very careful person. Richard's favorite words were "please" and "thank you". He enjoyed playing with his cars and looking at magazines. Richard liked going to Mason City and eating at McDonalds. His favorite foods were ice cream, cherry Coke and mashed potatoes. Richard loved playing with children and babies. He was deeply loved by his entire family. He enjoyed watching television programs and listening to music from radio, records and tapes. Richard cherished playing with toys.
He is survived by his parents; sisters Judy (Jim) Anderson of Ronan, MT, Jayne (Bruce) Vasselin of Regina, Saskatchewan, JoAnn (Mark) Lewerke of Garner and Julie (David) Kuhlers of Belmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.
