Dennis Wilhelm, 68, died August 4. Survivors are his wife Helen; son Greg (Julie) Wilhelm of Goodell; daughter Pam (Dave) Hellige of Beatrice, NE. and five grandchildren.

GOODELL, IA _ Dennis Paul Wilhelm, 68, of Goodell, died Monday (Aug. 4, 1997) at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Belmond, with Pastor Lowell Halvorson officiating. Interment will be in the Norway Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Dennis Paul Wilhelm, the son of Albert and Della (Kienker) Wilhelm, was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Johnson, Neb. He graduated in 1946 from Vernon High School. He was united in marriage to Helen Jotten in 1950, and entered the United States Army and served for two years. After his discharge he worked as a cheese maker in Goldfield, and one year later they began farming east of Belmond. In 1973, they moved near Goodell where they farmed until his death at his home on Aug. 4, 1997. Dennis was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond and had served his church in many capacities. He enjoyed his grandchildren and liked teaching them about the farm.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Greg Wilhelm and his wife, Julie, of Goodell; daughter, Pam Hellige and her husband, Dave, of Beatrice, Neb.; grandchildren, Kelly, Alyssa and Joel Wilhelm, Daniel and Jason Hellige; sisters, Lois McAfee and her husband, Bob, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; Arlene Hunter and her husband, Duane, of Ralston, Neb.; Norma Ruberg, of Rushford, Minn.; Margaret Hippen and her husband, Lewllyn, of Humboldt; Elaine Johnson and Joan Larson of Des Moines; Donna Day and her husband, Roger, of Humboldt; Elaine Johnson and her husband, Peter, of Des Moines; Sharon McCormick and her husband, Mike, of Birmingham, Mich; brothers Milton Wilhelm and his wife, Jolene, of Luverne; Loren Wilhelm and his wife, Betty, of Boone; Keith Wilhelm and his wife, Marilyn, of Sac City; Burnis Wilhelm and his wife, Doris, of Tampa, Fla.; Kenneth Wilhelm of Kentwood, Mich.; and Ron Wilhelm and his wife, Theresa, of Lincoln, Neb. Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant daughter, Paula, and an infant brother, Wayne.
