Robert L. Husted, 80, of Alden, Iowa, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Robert L. Husted will be 10:30 Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Linn's Funeral Chapel, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa, with Michael Mentzer officiating. A Time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls. Burial will be at the Alden Cemetery, Alden, Iowa.

Robert LeRoy Husted was born March 6, 1930, at Confidence, Iowa, in Wayne County the son of Hallie Mae Peters. He attended Country School near Confidence. He served with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. On April 23, 1952 Robert was united in marriage to Marcene Joyce Brinkman at Eagle Grove, Iowa. To this union two sons were born: Roger and Rocco. Robert was a heavy equipment operator with road construction for many years. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (AFL-CIO) since 1975, and a 60 years member of the American Legion Post 0523, Dows, Iowa.

Robert L. Husted is survived by his wife: Marcene Husted of Alden, Iowa; his sons: Roger [Vicki] Husted of Alden, Iowa; Rocco [Diane] Husted of Alden, Iowa; five grandchildren: Justin Hoelscher of Waverly, Iowa, Travis Husted of Elkhart, Iowa, Ryan Hoelscher of Urbandale, Iowa, Angela [Michael] Mentzer of Alden, Iowa, Joseph [Brenda] Husted of Iowa Falls, Iowa; eight great grandchildren: Trevor Husted, Olivia Raymond, Colton Mentzer, Caden Mentzer, Amanda King, Anton Reiter, Trey Husted, and Tanner Husted. He was preceded in death by his mother: Hallie Peters.
