7 December 1944Mrs. C. G. Pritchard, 78, died on Monday afternoon at 2:30 at her home in Buffalo Center after a lingering illness of several months. Catherine Rosecrans Pritchard was born in Garner May 7, 1866, to William and Gittie Finch. She received her education in St. Mary's academy at Prairie du Chien. In 1886 she was united in marriage with William Isaac Rosecrans at Belmond. During the years she lived there she was active in civic and social affairs, having been a charter member of the Belmond Progress club and president of the board at the time the public library was erected. Two children were born of this union. They are Leo M. Rosecrans of Los Angeles, California, and Gladys (Mrs. C. E. Barnes) of Garner. Mr. Rosecrans died in Garner in 1921. Sometime later Mrs. Rosecrans became the wife of Charles G. Pritchard of Buffalo Center and went there to make her home. She became a member of the Literary Circle and of the American Legion Auxiliary. At the time of death she was a member of Court of Isabella No. 642, Catholic Daughters of America in Garner. Mrs. Pritchard is survived by her husband, two children, three grandchildren, Mrs. Arthur Ross of Dundalk, Maryland, Mrs. Adam Yurigan of Garner, Pvt. Leo M. Rosecrans, Jr., now stationed in Italy; two great grandchildren, and by one sister, Mrs. W. S. Pritchard of Garner. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at 9 o'clock at the Catholic Church in Buffalo Center with Father Flood officiating and burial was in the Belmond Cemetery with Father Robert Ormsby in charge of grave side services.
