A. J. Dumond, living near Finchford, died last Friday and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery at this place Sunday, the funeral being held at the Baptist church, the pastor conducting the services. The following brief account of his life has been handed to us for publication: A. J. Dumond was born in Seneca County, Ohio, January 29, 1830. He moved from Ohio to Iowa in the spring of 1855, settling in Wright County. In 1881 he came to Butler County where he lived until his death May 15th. The deceased was converted at the age of 15 years and joined the Baptist church, remaining a member of that body until coming to Iowa, he joined the Christian church at Finchford. The deceased leaves a wife and one son with a large circle of friends to mourn his loss.
