WESLACO, TX - Kenneth John Barnes, 91, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at his residence in Weslaco. Born September 7, 1918 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He is survived by his daughter Vira and her husband Dan; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth married Lillian Miller in March of 1960. She preceded him in death in November of 2005. He retired from Illinois Central Railroad where he was an Office Manager for Freight Rates. He retired in Fort Dodge, Iowa in the late 70's. He moved to the Valley in 1982. For 59 years Kenneth enjoyed being a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St Pius X Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
