CLINTON, Iowa — Sandra S. “Sandi” Smrcka, 66, of Clinton, died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Mercy Living Center North. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20, at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 21, at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, Iowa. Memorials may be given to the family.

Sandi was born on Sept. 15, 1943, in Sibley, the daughter of Lawrence and Rose (Ramsey) Schuck. She graduated from Sibley High School in 1962. She married Larry Smrcka on Dec. 23, 1964, in Sibley. Sandi worked at Clinton Community Schools as a para-educator for over 20 years, retiring in 2008. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, card club, and spending time with her family. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Sandi is survived by her husband, Larry Smrcka of Clinton; three children, Krystal (Phil) Kyger of Bellevue, Neb., Traci (Emmett) Thompson of Abilene, Texas, and Jace (Ericka) Smrcka of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren, Jerrica, Aidan, Macallister, and Brendan; her mother, Rose Schuck of Eagle Grove, Iowa; and a brother, Mike (Renee) Schuck of Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, David, and her grandparents.
