March 12, 1999LATIMER, IA - Leona D. Krabbe, of Latimer, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at the Franklin General Hospital, at the age of 88. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 1999, at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, in Coulter, with Pastor Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial will be in the Coulter Cemetery in Coulter following the service. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church in Coulter. Willim Funeral Home, Latimer, is in charge of arrangements.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, James; her daughter, Joyce and husband, Merle, of Latimer; her sons, Dean Krabbe, of Dows, and Willard and his wife, Barbara, of Thornton; 8 grandchildren: Larry Krabbe, Kimberley Crafton, Pam Davis, Sherry Manus, Scott Krabbe, Douglas Krabbe, Dawn Frank and Dennis Wagner; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Larson, of Coulter; sisters-in-law, Esther Larsen, of Hampton and Orpa Larsen, of Spring Valley, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lewis and Myron Larsen; sister, Bertha Nielsen; three great-granddaughters, Jessica, Megan and Nicole.
Leona Drusilla Larsen was born May 10, 1910, at Alexander, Iowa. She was the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Danielen) Larsen. She was raised and educated in the Alexander and Coulter areas in her early childhood. Leona graduated from the Hampton High School. On February 16, 1934, she was united in marriage to James Krabbe at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter. Leona was also baptized and confirmed at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter.
