GOLDFIELD, IA - Bernette (Bernie) L. Smith, daughter of Blanche (Biondahl) and Lars Thompson was born Aug. 11, 1924 near Thor, Iowa. She became a resident of Rotary Ann in Eagle Grove passing away May 9, 2010. Survivors include her son Jim Westfall and wife Mary of Alamogordo, New Mexico, 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors are sister-in-laws Wilma Thompson and Marjorie Thomson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Smith, her parents, 5 siblings, 1 brother-in-law and 2 sister-in-laws. Bernie's passions in life were bowling and painting. She also enjoyed numerous crafts, flowers, yard work and dancing. She will be missed by family and friends alike.
