The funeral service for Mrs. Daisy Gessner, 88, who died Monday evening at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Welter Funeral Home. Loftus H. Ward will officiate; burial will be in the Doland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening.

Daisy Bristor was born June 1, 1878, at Ottawa, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bristor. As a girl she came to Odell, Neb., with her parents crossing both the Mississippi and Missouri rivers in a covered wagon on a ferry. She resided there until she was 12 when she moved to Clarion, Iowa. She married C. Monroe Severe in June, 1896. To this union were born three children. In 1920 the family moved to Doland and farmed. Her husband died in 1927. She married Robert Gessner in Huron in 1932 where she had lived since. Survivors include one son, Cassius Severe, Bagley, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Dahl, Mill Valley, Calif., and Madeline Severe, Philadelphia; 18 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Otto Herrick, Fargo.
