Kent Gabrielson, 43, died April 9, 1990 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines after suffering a heart attack.

Kent Gabrielson, 43, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday in Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, after suffering an apparent heart attack in a Des Moines restaurant. He had been in Des Moines to attend a highway patrol inservice training program. Born Dec. 14, 1946, at Belmond, he married Greta Willems June 28, 1970, at Ackley. Mr. Gabrielson joined the Iowa Highway Patrol Oct. 1, 1969, and was assigned to District 11 in Cedar Rapids from 1969 to Jan. 29, 1982, when he was promoted to sergeant, District 9 in Cedar Falls. At the time of his death, he was assistant district commander, District 9. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Gretchen and Ingrid, both at home; his mother, Agnes, and a brother, Wilmer, both of Belmond; and a sister, Helen Kew of Clear Lake. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls. Burial: Belmond. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Shoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and one hour before service time Thursday at the church. A memorial fund has been established.
