EENHUIS, KING, ESTES, HUBACHER, HARMS, YOUNG, RODRIGUEZ

MASON CITY, IA - Hazel (Eenhuis) King, 89, of Mason City died Monday (May 3, 2010) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E. in Mason City. Officiating the service will be Pastors Don Hochmuth and James Grabitske of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 5, at the funeral home and again one hour prior to the services.

Hazel was born on April 7, 1921, in Northwood, Iowa, the daughter of William and Hazel Estes. She graduated from Hamilton Community College. Hazel had lived in Hayfield and Kanawha before finally settling in Mason City in 1961. Following the death of her first husband, Frank Eenhuis, she was united in marriage to Joseph King on February 20, 1970 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Mason City. Hazel had cooked at Country House, cleaned at J.C. Penny and was a bookkeeper for Dunn, Inc. and High Cross Hatchery. Hazel was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where she was also a member of the Ladies Aid.
She looked forward to meeting with her friends for breakfast and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She especially loved playing Yahtzee with the kids. She also quilted and crocheted in her free time as well as watching the birds and butterflies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Frank Eenhuis; son, Dennis Eenhuis; grandchildren, Pattie and Willie King; brother, Drexell Estes; son-in-law, Charlie Hubacher; brother-in-law, Leo King Jr.; father-in-law, Leo King; and all of her in-laws in the Eenhuis family. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joseph; children, Karen Hubacher of Mason City, Bill (Steph) King of Mason City, Teresa (Steve) Harms of Hampton, Nancy (Tim) Young of Mason City, Tom (Phyllis) King of Dows, Nancy Jo Rodriguez of Austin, Texas, and Joey (Jessica) King of Jacksonville, N.C.; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
