Fort Dodge Messenger, IowaEAGLE GROVE - Rose Marie (Lawrence) Hallagan, the daughter of Alma and Edna (Fick) Lawrence, was born January 22, 1930, in Lanesboro, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the Clarksville and Waverly area, graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1947 and moved to Eagle Grove in 1952. On March 21, 1957, Rose married Harold Hallagan at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1992. Rose worked as a nurse's aide and med aide at Rotary Ann Nursing Homes for over 20 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Rose passed away Friday, April 30, 2010, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 80 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Norma Thompson; three brothers, Skip, Tim and Bruce; daughter, Marilyn Bjornson and two grandchildren. Survivors include her children: Janelle Clavey and husband Ray of Eagle Grove, Jeananne Schulte and husband Ken of Alleman, Carroll Hallagan of Clarion, Michael Hallagan of Summerville, SC and Ken Tyrer and wife Su of Kingman, AZ; 32 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Father Nils Hernandez officiating. Visitation is Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
