MRS. C. HEFTE RITES PLANNED
Clarion Woman Dies at Daughter's Home; Was Norway Native

Clarion-Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Tegland for Mrs. Tegland's mother, Mrs. Carolyn Hefte, 85, who died late Monday night at the Tegland home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Kanawha Lutheran church with the Rev. B. Guldseth officiating.

Mrs. Hefte was born in Stavanger, Norway, and came to the United States when she was 18 years old. She made her home in Illinois until the time of her marriage to Andrew Hefte.

She was the mother of 10 children, six of whom survive. They are Mrs. Nellie Stole of Highmore, S. Dak.; Austin Hefte of Hayfield, Minn.; Mrs. Alsena Nelson of Hayfield, Minn.; Mrs. Otto Tegland of Clarion; Mrs. Adena Johnson of Belmond and Mrs. Sadie Shaw of Latimer.

Sixty-seven grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren also survive. A brother, Pete Espe, lives in Clear Lake and a sister, Mrs. Anna Bly resides in Newell.
