Former Resident of Nora Springs Dies at Renwick

Nora Springs, IA – Word reached here Wednesday morning of the death of Mrs. Henry (Meta) Foster, 51, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lora Peer, at Renwick Tuesday evening. Mrs. Foster had undergone surgery last July. Funeral services were to be held Thursday at Eagle Grove where the Fosters operated the Foster Food Market. She is survived by one son, Jim, a veterinary, at Eagle Grove. Mr. Foster died Feb. 11, 1953. The Fosters lived in Nora Springs for 10 years, during which time Mr. Foster was superintendent of local schools. They left here in June, 1955, moving to Eagle Grove. During her residence here, she was a member of the Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Harmony Federated Club, having been a leader in all of those organizations. Among the casket bearers at the funeral will be W. H. Schnedler of Nora Springs and O. L. Hansen of Des Moines.

RENWICK— Mrs. Metta Foster, 51, passed away Tuesday evening Dec. 21, at the home of her sister Mrs. Lora Peer, in Renwick. She has been very ill for some time. She was born in Renwick, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Tanck. She was married to Henry Foster and one son, James, blessed this home. Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1953. Funeral was Thursday at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Eagle Grove with Rev. Roy Cox officiating.

She leaves, her son, James of Eagle Grove, and three sisters, Mrs. Lora Peer, Mrs. Lillian McGowan and Mrs. Norma Long, all of Renwick. She was a member of thc Methodist church. Burial was in Glenwood cemetery in Goldfield.
