Orsland Rites to Be Thursday at Eagle Grove

EAGLE GROVE—Funeral services for Gusta Orsland, 83, will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev, Kenneth R. Torvik will officiate and burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Mrs. Orsland was born April 5, 1873, to Marie Monson and Jacob Jonassen Berg at Skjold, Norway, and died at her home in Eagle Grove on Monday morning. In 1902 she came to this country where she married Henry J. Orsland on June 10, 1905. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1936. She is survived by one adopted daughter, Mrs. Ivan (Borghild) Wingaard, and by the foster daughter's four children and six grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Berg, Camrose, Canada, and Jacob Berg, Eagle Grove, and two sisters, Anna Orsland and Mrs. Louis Solheim, both of Eagle Grove. Preceding her in death were a brother, Martin Berg, and a sister, Martha Dahl, and her husband, Henry. She was a long, faithful member of Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church and was honored with a Life Membership by the W.M.S. The Kastler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
