George State of Oceanside, Calif., formerly of Grinnell, died May 26 [2000] in Oceanside of cancer. Burial took place in Oceanside. He was born March 16, 1934, in Dows, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Vena State and grew up in Grinnell. He was retired from the United States Air Force and had resided in California from 1975. He is survived by his wife Mary Moore State of Oceanside; three sons, Robert, Vista, Calif.; Russell, Des Moines, and Randall, Oceanside; one sister Dorothy Murphy, Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother Doug State, Kearney, Neb.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.
