Dixie Helene Ralston, the daughter of James O. and Helene (Fetty) Graves, was born on August 9, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was raised on the family farm near Webster City, graduating from Webster City High School’s “Class of 1961”. On December 29, 1962, Dixie was united in marriage with Jim Ralston. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove and became the parents of two children, Kellie and Kris. Dixie worked in the Press Department of the Electrolux Plant in Webster City for nearly 25 years, retiring in 2005. Dixie was a member of the Eagle Grove United Methodist Church and the Women’s Bowling League. She enjoyed bowling with her friends, watching her grandsons sporting events, traveling, spending time with her family and attending reunions.

Left to cherish her memory are: her husband, Jim Ralston of Eagle Grove; daughter Kellie Poncin and husband Dave of Eagle Grove; son, Kris Ralston and wife Amy of Des Moines; 3 grandchildren: Amanda Coleman (Jake Pamperin), Logan Poncin and Colton Poncin; 3 great-grandchildren: Johnathan, Braeden and Adelie Jo Helene Pamperin; grand-doggies: Sadie girl, Cooper and Charlie; sisters: Frances Olson and husband Herb of Ankeny and Doris Helton of Webster City and brother Max Graves and wife Janet of Marshalltown.

Dixie passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010, at the University Of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, at the age of 66 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Loudene Arnold.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Mike Agnew officiating. Visitation is Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
