St. Louis, MO -- Charles Gregg, 70, passed away on March 19, 2010 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis of cancer surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 411 3rd Avenue, Slater, Iowa. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. March 23, 2010 at the church.

Charles was born July 28, 1939, in Des Moines to Clarence and Gertrude. He was married to Marilyn Hedlund on January 31, 1959, and they resided in Slater for 23 years where they raised three daughters. He ran a car dealership in Clarion, Iowa, for 22 years, retiring in 2004 and lived on Lake Cornelia. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching NASCAR racing and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Debra, Carol (Dan) and Julie (Brian); six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, John. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society or National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Soderstum Riis Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
