Charles Dean Stein, Sr. 71, of Webster City, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at the U. S. A. Healthcare Center, Clarion, Iowa. Funeral services for Charles Dean Stein, Sr. will be 1:00 pm Friday at the Linn’s Funeral Home, Iowa Falls, with Reverend Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 11:00 am to service time at the Linn’s Funeral Home, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Veteran’s Home, c/o John DeVold, 1515 West Pleasant, Knoxville, Iowa, 50138.

Charles Dean Stein was born September 29, 1933, at Webster City, Iowa, the son of Franklin and Isabella Stein. He attended Webster City Community Schools graduating from the Webster City High School. He married Janet Zech and they were later divorced. He then married Edith Packard and they were also later divorced. He served with the United States Air Force from February 1, 1954, to October 15, 1957 serving as a military policeman in Korea and Japan.

Charles Dean Stein, Sr. is survived by hi children: Charles “Chuck” Stein, Jr. and his wife Flo of Webster City, Iowa, Trudy Stein of Lehigh, Iowa, Curt Stein and his wife JoAnn Uhle of Harleysville, Pennsylvania. Lori Stein of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Berry Stein of Wisconsin, Douglas Stein and his wife Lori of Norfolk, Virginia, and Terry Stein of Fort Dodge, Iowa; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister: Linda Wiggins of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Frances McBee and Barb Jensen; and two brothers: Frank and Gerald Stein.
