Harold Jeske, 88, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 17, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 17000 Smyers Lane, Round Rock, Texas. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert. He is survived by his wife, Marian of Austin, Texas; daughter, Beth Saslowsky and husband Norm of Weaverville, North Carolina; daughter, Kathleen Watson and husband Greg of Ridgecrest, California; and son, David and wife Carolyn of Round Rock, Texas. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Kelly Watson of Ridgecrest, California, Rachel and Joel Jeske of Round Rock, Texas; four nephews; and three nieces. Prior to moving to Albuquerque, he served in the US Army in Washington DC where he met and married his wife Marian Eggers in 1945. In 1947, he completed his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering at Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College. After moving to Albuquerque, Harold taught at the University of New Mexico and worked at KGGM before beginning employment at Sandia National Laboratory. He retired from Sandia in 1987. Harold and Marian were charter members of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Albuquerque where he held many different offices throughout the years. In 2004, Harold and Marian moved to Round Rock, Texas to be near their son and family. Harold will be missed by all who knew him. Donations/memorial gifts can be made in his name to either: Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 Alvarado Drive Southeast, Albuquerque, NM to the Samaritan's Purse International Christian relief organization providing relief for Haiti quake victims.
